"Booked last minute as we needed to break our journey. Arrived at 20.30 hrs. Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. As food was only served till 9pm we put our bags in the room and came down for some food. The menu looked good and what we ordered didnt dissapoint. I especially loved the chips qhich were treble cooked. Our room was clean and fairly basic, in a nice sort of way. "We had a fabulous time at the Bridges B&B. Lesley was the perfect host, so friendly and helpful we immediately felt it was home from home. The interior was like a boutique hotel, beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished. It was very comfortable, Steve and Lesley had thought of everything. The breakfasts were also excellent, Lesley went the extra mile to ensure I had something suitable for IBS. She really was so thoughtful and we really appreciated it."

"The lodge was good, breakfast was nice, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the entrance, straight off the A1. No slip road made it difficult to slow down enough to get in without missing the entrance which I did the first night and had to go up to the next road to turn around and try again, plus it’s terrible try to cross over the A1. "

"The bed was joined together so one was higher than the other so it was uncomfortable.We went to eat on the evening limited menu needed more choice,no vegetables on the menu all chips with one choice of mash.We chose the burger because it had coleslaw but when it came out it tasted off ,we asked a member of staff who said it was made with butter milk,however we noticed after that the food was coming out with a salad instead.So we can only presume that the coleslaw was off.. "

It would have been nice to know that information so we could make alternative arrangement and not be disappointed when we got there and be inconvenienced by having to go back out. "It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area."
