"The staff were excellent. Very friendly, courteous and professional. We were here for my father's funeral and held his wake in the function room, and stayed overnight for two days. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel who made a difficult time much easier to bear."

"Arrived at hotel to find it closed due to housing refugees. Neither the hotel nor yourselves contacted me prior to arriving there with this information. We had travelled quite a distance to attend a family function, all hotels in the area were fully booked, therefore the four of us (2 in our sixties and 2 in their eighties) ended up sleeping on relatives sofas. This is totally unacceptable on all counts. This is the 1st time I have used Hotels.com and the service provided does not encourage me...

"Nice enough staff. The pub looked like a 1970’s Benidorm recreation of a British pub with a ceiling full of beer mats. Food was ok but a little overpriced for pub grub. The outside area was filthy. The doors to the outbuildings that house the rooms were ramshackle. The rooms themselves looked like they were last decorated about 30 years ago. The TV was a 20 year old mini tv with free view that didn’t hold the signal. Neither tv or kettle had a PAT testing sticker. The bathroom was grubby...

"This stay corrosponded with a 50th birthday we were invited to, and chose this accomodation as it was fairly close! We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. I was upset at first, that my sister was on the ground floor, and I was on the top floor, but the gentleman carried up my case, I am 67 my sister 75! "At the time of our visit, the hotel had had only one day to assimilate the government instructions to close restaurants and bars. Despite this, the staff had organised themselves to allow guests to prepare a takeaway breakfast, to collect this without close contact with either staff or other guests and still provide a friendly, helpful service."

A great little getaway for a lone adventure!

"Thank you so much to Alex and Sav from mum who just needed a short break alone. Great location and parking was easy and convenient. Exceptional breakfast menu - the bacon and sausage cob was lovely and a prefect start to my morning. I also have to give a shout out to the gorgeous apple crumble and custard, it was perfect and made my first evening. Being able to eat in my room to get that space from life with audiobooks and Netflix was perfect. Would love to stay again."

Best Western Premier EMA Yew Lodge Hotel

"Overall the property was very clean and well maintained and the staff was kind and helpful. Be aware that the location and size of the “courtyard” shown in the booking images were misleading. The location was tucked away on a very, very small corner of the property. The spa was closed for renovations during our stay as well. The restaurant, Marco’s, was a big disappointment for anything outside of breakfast. Our meal order was mixed up, my partner’s steak was overcooked, both steaks were bland, and the side dish offerings were slim. I would definitely stay at the hotel again just know that there aren’t many dining options within walking distance. "
