"We stayed at Bere Cottage when taking my son to university in Canterbury. It is a quaint, very old cottage, and although charming it could do with a bit of TLC - I felt the carpets needed a deep clean, ditto the front door, which would also benefit from a lick of paint, the carpet on the stairs needed replacing, but overall the kitchen and bathroom were clean, the sofas and beds very comfortable and the location perfect, with a good pub just a minute away. "Mold has taken over the cottage and now everything we took on the trip smells like mildew. I may have to buy replacement suitcases. My cpap machine filter turned black from 4 nights use in that place. I can only imagine what is in my lungs from breathing the air during my stay. We had to keep windows open at all times that we were inside; to keep the moldy smell from making us sick. The antiques are nice to look at but not comfortable to use. The shower is barely a drip and it was impossible...
