I recently stayed at the Gainsborough Spa Hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Bath, making it easy to explore the city’s iconic sights. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the spa facilities. The thermal spa is absolutely stunning, with a series of warm and cool pools that feel incredibly rejuvenating. I particularly enjoyed the infrared sauna, which offered a more gentle heat and left me feeling completely relaxed. The serene atmosphere of the spa made it easy to unwind, and I appreciated the thoughtful little touches like chilled water and plush towels throughout. The room itself was beautifully designed—elegant yet cosy, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the attention to detail in the decor really enhanced the overall experience. Beautiful hotel and staff are excellent as always. Due to heavy rain there was a leak in the room and they changed it instantly, one of the ladies at the reception was being a bit awkward when we mentioned the size of the room but they gave us a little hamper to make up for it. It was very thoughtful. I would definitely visit again, I have been there a few times now with my family who have visited my from India. The spa area was a bit busier than usual but that could be due to the time of the year. I highly recommend this hotel, its location, rooms, service is perfect! One of the best hotels in the Uk.

You need to book parking at hotel. We did not know and had to park in public parking overnight. Also you can only use the pool for two hours in the morning and two hours at night. Outside these hours you pay £70 per person for access. A bit of a rip off for a 5-star hotel. Buffet was very average - not much to choose from.

Our visit to Bath was short, but very sweet! The hotel was great! We enjoyed the spa in the morning and shopping and sightseeing in the afternoon. The rooms are beautifully decorated very comfortable.

Central location. Walkable to all sites, including the train station (8 minute walk, all flat). Easy train access in and out of London via Paddington Station. Complimentary use of the onsite spa and baths was a great bonus and really made the stay notable. The staff were helpful and responsive.

A bit underwhelmed by our stay. For starters, parking our car was a thoroughly unpleasant and stressful experience - £45 for one night and we had to drive it and pick it up ourselves from an off-site car park (albeit only 5 minutes walk). I do not understand how a "5 star" hotel does not provide valet parking, especially at this price. As for the spa, whilst it was lovely, it was not made clear until just before our arrival that it was only available to hotel guests at very limited times. Consequently the spa was very busy and we had to get up quite early to use it. Overall, not a bad experience but definitely did not feel like a '5 star' one.

Breakfast was great with a combination of buffet hot dish to order. Good facilities, great staff and nice small spa within the hotel. Will definitely come back if I visit Bath again.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were all really friendly and very helpful, providing just the right level of attention. The afternoon tea was nice, as was the spa area. There is a little wear and tear around the thermal bath, and some areas of the room weren't especially clean, but I would return.

The stairs were stained and dirty throughout the building. The bathroom was also dirty. The bed was really droopy in the middle and also very bouncy every time you moved on it. The rooms are located on a busy street with people Shouting outside until 2.30am. You have to pay EXTRA £70 per person to use the on site Spa facilities at a normal time. Which is a Bit of a Con after paying £350/night for a room identical to a Premier Inn room…
