Very satisfied with my 3 night stay at the Metropol in late September. I had a single room which was a good size and had nicely renovated bathroom and a view of the river (and the Matterhorn, if I popped my head out and looked to the right). Room was very functional (including mini espresso machine) and kept very clean by housekeeping. Great location - I easily walked everywhere I wanted to go. Fantastic breakfast. Staff was pleasant and helpful. SPA and pool area was icing on the cake. Will definately stay here again.

Staff were very warm and friendly, even gave me some cheese to take with me when I left! Generous breakfast. Best of all - an empty pool with a view of the Matterhorn, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna - all impeccably clean. Room very reasonably priced for a single traveller- first time I have had a single trundle bed so as not to waste room size-very practical. Everything I needed.

Wonderful hotel with friendly staff.
We loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly and remembered who you were. The facilities were excellent and we used the pool and spa every day. The views were simply stunning from our balcony and from the pool area. Breakfast was very good, plenty of options, including some freshly cooked to order options. We were even gifted some local cheese when we left. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely hotel in Zermatt.

We spent 3 nights here in October and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was great with an excellent variety of hot and cold food, and the hotel was in a good location within walking distance to everything. But most importantly, the staff were fantastic! You felt as though you were staying with family. Would highly recommend and definately stay here again!

Outstanding service from friendly staff (Thanks, Stephanie!) - including train station pickup. Breakfast had a good selection of food & drinks. Room was clean and had amenities expected. Our balcony view was amazing, perfect line of sight for the Matterhorn - and early mornings it was bright & clear. Location was convenient to main street but quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I’d be remiss to not comment on my stay. Is it the most modern hotel? No. It is modest and a bit outdated but it is very clean and the staff is exceptionally friendly. We spent most of our time hiking, shopping, and dining, so for the purposes of having a clean, safe place to lay your head, it was perfect. Reasonably priced for the area. Walkable to everywhere. Rush of the river lulls you to sleep each nite. My only complaint is that the room got quite warm at times (I was there in July - no AC). Keeping the windows open at night worked fine, but if you had a light on, expect a few moths to find their way in. I would absolutely stay here again.

Gorgeous pool, friendly staff, great location
Charming hotel with the friendliest staff in an unbeatable location next to the river and a 3 minute walk from the entrance to the Sunnegga funicular. Surprisingly beautiful pool & hot tub with Matterhorn view. Got a single room on same floor as the pool, so it was not the quietest but it was more spacious than I expected. In all, great value for money by Zermatt standards.
