See a silver chess set that was gifted to the 19th-century chess master Paul Morphy and a 500-year-old piece used in the Egyptian game of Senet, which is thought to have been a predecessor to modern-day chess.
In addition to the permanent holdings, the center also hosts temporary exhibitions. Past exhibitions have focused on chess-related comics and the revolutionary women of the chess world as well as showcasing chess-inspired artworks by international artists. Don’t leave without checking out which chess legends have been inducted into the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame and the World Chess Hall of Fame.
