"Loved the decor of the hotel, we stayed in Calke room. Hotel chosen as situated within easy walk to Heights of Abraham event we'd booked. The hotel's Restaurant wasnt fully operational but this is shown on their website. Some hot food was available though Fri & Sat evening and we had very tasty meals. But there are loads of other eateries nearby. Good choices for breakfast as well. All in all we had great weekend with lots to do in the area. We enjoyed the live music at Fish Pond pub short walk...

"This was a quaint little cottage nestled a stones throw from chatsworth with incredible walks in the doorstep and a local beautiful pub mere metres to the side. "This is a lovely room, set in tranquil and beautiful setting. The family that owned it were lovely and did whatever they could for us. The log fire was fantasic to sit next to as we ate a meal that competed with the 5 star buxton crescent we were at the night before. "Stayed here after visiting Chatsworth House, the staff were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our room had been upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. We ate in the bar, as we weren’t particularly hungry, again good, attentive service, and the bar snacks ordered were very enjoyable. We would return and also recommend Peak Edge Hotel to others. "

"This was our first visit to Fischer's Baslow Hall and we are already planning a return visit in 2025. We experienced warm, friendly and efficient service from the moment of our arrival and throughout our stay. The attention to detail was impressive. The superb 6 course gourmet dinner accompanied by excellent wines was an amazing highlight of our stay. We were very comfortably accommodated in a Garden Room. Loved the superking-size bed."

"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

Best country hotel

"Amazing! We were initially put in Room 3 which we found a little disappointing for what we had paid. We asked for Room 5 (our very favourite room) and we were delighted to change rooms (although slightly confused why we hadn’t been offered that one first?). Room 5 was stunning and impeccably clean and inviting, although very ( a little too) warm on arrival Our bar meal was excellent, the bar manager was wonderful and kept the real fire stoked all evening which enhanced the cosy pub experience. Breakfast was amazing and the staff as always were exceptional. The homemade shortbread biscuits which we enjoyed with coffee in our room were truly delicious. We live less than half an hour away and this has become our once yearly treat. A truly fabulous country hotel with excellent food and impeccable service. Thanks all!"
