Watamu itself is a bit less interesting in the off season (I.e. most restaurants are closed, as are many of the gear shops), but it’s still lovely if not a tad bit windy. Staff were amazing! "The scenery around the property was very beautiful. Overall the property was what I would consider a little tired. Lots of rooms to maintain and insufficient funds to do so. All inclusive was average to be kind food possibly below average (my fiance suffered from food poisoning after eating fish at lunch on the first day). A property that has a lot of potential but needs a lot of money spending on it."

"This is a great place to relax, but there is not a lot to do at the hotel or within walking distance. The plunge pools with villa are fantastic! Due to the tides in the area, you can only swim in the ocean at high tide, and the water has a lot of seaweed. The restaurant is amazing, we really enjoyed all of our meals and the staff were always friendly and helpful."

The check in staff focused on my wife giving her all the info and the bill, which I thought was odd but not a deal breaker. "The property (houses on Easter Side) has big issue with the three-phase power input. Finally, we spent our night without electricity (two basic lamps were provided instead for the room and bathroom). The electric generator was not reliable - lights were blinking all the time. I didn`t want to charge my electric equipment when the generator was used (didn`t want risk damaging items). The breakfast was rather basic. The rest of the experience was OK. It was the only only one property we visited...
