"We had a fantastic stay at Swahili Beach Resort. The resort is stunning and thoughtfully designed, featuring a multi layered pool and beautifully crafted architecture throughout the rooms and hotel. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. The only downside was the air con was quite noisy."

"We liked the group activities like water polo. There was variety of food during dinner. Most of the staff were friendly and the lady at reception ensured we got the honeymoon compliment. They also upgraded our room from standard to deluxe at no extra cost. "

"Hemingways Watamu was just what we were looking for in terms of somewhere to relax and rest after an injury and work. Watamu itself is a bit less interesting in the off season (I.e. most restaurants are closed, as are many of the gear shops), but it’s still lovely if not a tad bit windy. Staff were amazing! Highly recommend."

"Had a wonderful stay, staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. One thing to bear in mind is that this location is in the town centre and not near Shella beach - it's either a 40 mins walk or a 15 minute boat ride. There is also no aircon on the island so it's just fans."

"This place was so so beautiful! All staff but 1 was wonderful! Very nice and clean! Walkable to the beach, shopping, dining and my mums house! Thought it started free breakfast we did not get! Otherwise I would highly highly recommend and I would for sure stay again the 2 bedroom, 2 bath with private pool was amazing! The staff that did help us was absolutely the best! "

"The descriptions available online were quite limited so we were not sure what to expect. We (2 couples, 2 kids) stayed in one of the Residences which was great - 3 large ensuite bedrooms and large living/dining area, but no kitchen facilities or dinnerware which was unusual if one assumes 3 couples or other group may be sharing the space. It is a private, stand alone building just a short walk to the main hotel and the pool was deep and good size. The beach in front of the hotel feels private...

"Turtle Bay Beach Resort appears to have had some upgrades since our last visit in 2023. There is fresh paint in many places, the ping pong table has been restored and new paddles are available to use. The food remains good, though not exceptional and there is sufficient variety for most tastes. The all-inclusive alcoholic drinks remain dismal due to the use of bottom end ultra-cheap alcohol requiring the consumption of multiple drinks to better enjoy your vacation. "This hotel has amazing potential and was probably once quite grand. The facilites are tired and in need of maintenance and updates. We were there out of season so it was very quiet and the staff seemed a little challenged in knowing what to do. The beach is great and the grounds are super. I would stay here again but I’d check my room and test the shower before settling on my room. "
