First time staying during the Christmas season and the decorations were worth it! Unfortunately there was a large convention happening in the building so we couldn’t get reservations at any of the 3 restaurants and ended up dining out - but that was excellent. Deluxe double room, lots of space and 2 bathrooms which was a bonus. Comfortable beds, nicely appointed rooms - quiet floor. Order room service in the morning, prompt and polite. Service was fabulous, despite being very busy with the convention. Very congested for driving in, would recommend walking / transit if you can - got stuck waiting to drop off luggage at the entrance in significant traffic as it’s direct across from union and a crowded spot no matter what time of day! Check in was easy, everything went smooth - high level service, excellent from start to finish.

Perfect location. Especially quiet for the area. The interior, especially during the holidays is spectacular. Only complaint is one of the garbages wasn’t emptied in the room which had some dirty cotton balls in it.

I made the decision to pay a little more to stay at the Royal York hotel, assuming that basic things like room service would be a premium experience. Instead, I was informed that not only does the hotel NOT offer room service, when I instead ordered myself a meal from Uber Eats, hotel security would not let the delivery person deliver it to my room, and instead made me leave my room, come down to the lobby, and pick it up from the delivery person. Both the delivery driver & myself shared our mutual surprise considering neither he nor myself ever experienced that at any other hotel. Next time I'll spend less money and go to another downtown Toronto hotel and receive an actual premium experience.
