Spot planes cruising around the Kansai International Airport to the south or enjoy the postcard-pretty view of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the west. Farther afield to the east of the city, youāll be able to see Mount Ikoma. The rugged peaks of the Rokko Mountains are to the northwest.Ā
Ride the Ferris wheel at night for a magical view of Osaka illuminated by street lights. The romantic atmosphere makes this a popular location for couples and first dates.Ā
This Ferris wheel provides a unique service for the city, with its lighting indicating the weather forecast for the next day. Orange lights signify a sunny forecast, green lights predict overcast weather and blue lights warn of rain.
Below the Ferris wheel, the Tempozan Harbour Village hums with tourist activity throughout the year. Shop for whacky souvenirs or let your children loose at the Kiddy Play Land. Snack foods, including skewers and pre-made okonomiyaki (savoury pancake), can be bought at stalls throughout the village.Ā
Aside from the Ferris wheel, the village's most popular attraction is the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. Marvel at the inhabitants in its tanks, touch sting rays, watch sea lions frolicking or get up-close with hopping penguins.
