"What a perfect place to stay in York.
A very easy stroll into York City. Everything you could want in a stay. Breakfast was very generous. And laundry dervice provided on request."
"The host was very kind and helpful. The Barbican is located just outside the wall, which is brilliant, as inside the walls is quite noisy until very late. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Indigo York by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed here for two nights and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is situated perfectly for exploring York and within 14 minutes walk of all you need to visit, ie York Minster, The Shambles, Jorvik Viking Centre and much more. Made two specific requests beforehand and both were met to complete satisfaction. Hotel staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Lovely room which was clean with the exception of behind the bathroom door. Breakfast choice excellent and well presented and flavourful. Would definitely recommend and would return again. "
"The hotel is in a great central location for walking. I woman at the front desk was just absolutely amazing. Friendly and helpful and a great sense of humor. Her name was Bee for short. The room was nice. The interesting part was the hotel is older and is not equipped with AC. They put portable AC units in the room and vent them thru the window. They also put an oscillating fan in the room as well. I was curious as to how this was going to play out. It went great. The room stayed cold. I mean cold not cool. We stayed in the summer months. The room was spacious, and bed was comfortable. So even with the window open slightly to allow venting from the AC we didn't get any street sounds up into the room. The area is quiet at night. No issues at all and they had black out curtains as well. Side note. The elevator is super small. 1 person and maybe 2 pieces of small luggage can fit in it. I had no issue with it buy my wife didn't care for it so used the stairs. No big deal it all. I personally thought it was somewhat interesting on a good note. "
"The property is well located for a stay in York, convenient for the train station and also for access to the city centre.
It was clean and the room was well appointed.
Lovely roof top bar giving a view across the city.
Breakfast was good."
