"Our first impression of the Le Meridien Chanba Hotel in Xi'an was awe-inspiring due to its location, majesty, lights and modern look. However upon check-in, we had an issue as to whether or not the room was previously paid (it was previously booked and pre-paid) and if the room itself was ready - this took over 30 minutes to discuss and resolve. "I've rarely bothered to leave reviews of hotels, but my experience here left me quite furious. I stayed in the hotel in October, so not so hot outside. However it was VERY hot in my room, at one point it was 27c. Clearly the Air Con wasn't functioning so I asked reception. They sent a technician who proceeded to LIE about the situation saying it would take time to cool down. Eventually they admitted that they had turned off the Air Con for the whole hotel to save money and gave me a cooling...

A special shout out to the hotel porter Andy who spoke great English and was so helpful during my stay and truly went above and beyond in his customer service. The hotel is a 25 minute walk to the closest entry point onto the City wall (Changle gate), which I highly recommend to rent a bicycle on. "
