"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fittings and decor are a bit dated but the bed was really comfortable and the linen and towels were lovely. I would suggest getting a room nearer the back of the hotel, we were on the front and it was rather noisy from the pub next door. Although the parking may seem a little complicated it's good value for being in the town and we extended the next morning at a better rate than if we had moved it. "Lovely large room and very clean. Yes it’s dated but that reflected in the price. Breakfast was lovely. I was woken by the glass recycling truck at 4.30 and was weary that you had to go down the side to get in after 11pm and I was a solo traveller. "

"I did not like the fact that there was no parking, and I had to go round looking for places to park which I had to pay as well. Free parking in some areas starts at 6pm, checking in was 2pm. Carrying bags from parking areas to the booked place was difficult, its uphill and it was raining, so it was a bit of a challenge for me. There was a lot of noise from the pub which come straight to the bedrooms, to an extent that I could hardly hear my TV. There was life music in the Pub, so I could not...

"Lovely period hotel with mostly period furniture. Very welcoming and helpful staff. I was staying on my own but there was such a good friendly atmosphere I didn’t feel “on my own”. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas."

"Lovely hotel. Parking easy. Really quiet. Easy access to the town. Stayed for 3 nights. One day my room wasn’t cleaned despite the sign I left on the door. TV a bit small. Internet access good. Overall I can recommend the hotel and I would stay again. "
