Seminyak Beach is a picturesque and idyllic stretch of sand situated on the west coast of Bali. Here, you can really relax in peace, as Seminyak village is more upmarket and attracts fewer visitors than the neighbouring villages of Legian and Kuta. Its upmarket nature makes it the perfect destination for those who prefer to holiday in style and comfort.
Spend some time on a sun lounger soaking up the sun on the beach while enjoying the calming sounds of the sea and the warm sea breeze. Afterwards, indulge in a spa with a sumptuous spa treatment, a therapeutic reflexology session or a traditional Balinese massage. Make sure you try a Balinese “Boreh” which consists of being covered in warming and healing spices and wrapped in a cloth so that that spices penetrate deep into the skin. This is followed by a tranquil flower bath.
Seminyak Beach isn’t just about relaxation. There are some pursuits available for those who prefer to be more active. Take a walk or go for a jog along the beach, then cool down by swimming or surfing in the Bali Sea. You can hire a surfboard from one of the nearby surf schools.
Away from the beach, you can indulge in some retail therapy or visit a gallery in Seminyak village, which is both the shopping capital of Bali and a centre for the arts. Browse the small boutiques and designer shops here to find something special to buy. Or marvel at artwork by Chusin Setiadikara (the Indonesian master of realism), Made Wianta or Ugo Untoro.
In the evening, enjoy a first-rate dining experience in one of the excellent, beachside fine-dining restaurants. Savour the exceptional food while gazing at the magnificent sunset. Afterwards, visit one of the nearby bars or clubs, where you can enjoy a cocktail and dance the night away.
Seminyak Beach is 30 minutes by car from Ngurah Rai International Airport, which is located near the capital of Bali, Denpasar. It is also only a 15-minute drive from the well-known Balinese tourist destination of Kuta. There is an excellent range of accommodation, including hotels, spa resorts and beach-side villas.
