"Good stay at the hotel. The Japanese rooms were amazing and we had a great vegetarian kaiseki dinner and really enjoyed the onsens. Would defintely recommend staying at this hotel. Only issue is transport to the location is a bit difficult if you don't have a car. We were aware of this and messaged ahead to ask about the availability of the hotel shuttle bus to the bus stop for our departure. Unfortunately, when we arrived the receptionist was unaware they had a shuttle bus and was very unwilling to check the information we were given or even help us sort out alternative travel. It led to a bit of a concerning situation for our travel plans before another staff memeber corrected her and arranged our transport."

"This place was very nice, in a great location across from the station. It’s a bit dated but well kept up, so there are features that are now quaint like the clock radio in the headboard of the bed. The room was nice and room with a huge tub. Breakfast was ok but not special. "

"We had perhaps the smallest room size and found that perfectly adequate, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast offered the widest range of Japanese dishes of any hotel we stayed at (all good quality and some dishes different each day) with local specialities like soba, a selection of fresh tempura including shrimp and asparagus and much more. There is a welcome drink (beer, whisky, soft drinks - one free each day - and free late night soup too. A nice onsen bath too."

"Matsumoto, nearby the train station is a delight! This hotel is just a few minutes walk and there are dozens and dozens of places to shop and eat nearby. The hotel is super clean and the staff is excellent. What a great stay!"

"Japanese business hotels offer small, clean, affordable rooms. These are great for internationals who want to meet Japanese people. My sibling Americans sometimes complain about small rooms. Large rooms are available at luxury hotels, but you cannot find better service than the service you receive at business hotels. Dormy provides great quality at affordable rates. "
