For the very best views of Ho Chi Minh City, head to the fabulous Saigon Skydeck, located on an upper floor of a spectacular central city skyscraper. Spot iconic sights, such as the cathedral far below, and enjoy a drink as the sun sets across the flat lands on the horizon.
The Saigon Skydeck is located in the Bitexco Financial Tower in the city centre. Designed by Ecuadorian architect Carlos Zapata, this glass-fronted skyscraper is said to resemble a lotus bulb. Enjoy this stunning sight in itself, standing high on the banks of the Saigon River.
Unless you are feeling extremely fit, it’s best to take the elevator to the Saigon Skydeck, which you will find on the 49th floor. Step out onto the lookout platform and you will be greeted with breathtaking, 360-degree views. To the west, look for Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market while the splendid city hall stands farther north. Watch fishing boats and yachts slowly cruising along the river or peer through the telescopes to the plains beyond the city.
Stay into the evening to watch the city lights twinkle on as you enjoy a stunning sunset across the plains. The Skydeck also puts on a light show of its own, with gently illuminated neon bulbs that switch between purple, red and blue. Rather than detracting from the nighttime scenery, this creates a mystical, atmospheric environment to gaze out over the sparkling Ho Chi Minh City views in front of you.
Extend your visit with a trip to the Heli Bar on the 51st floor. Relax with a refreshing beer or cocktail accompanied by some of the best views in the city.
Saigon Skydeck is on Ho Tung Mau Street in District One of Ho Chi Minh City. It is open every day from morning until late evening. The admission charge on the ground floor includes your pass to enter the Skydeck.
