"We've stayed before. Fantastic location.Clean, modern hotel with excellent facilities. Staff were superb. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our only negative was the bedroom was very hot. Slept with sliding doors open, despite minus temeratures outside. Problem solved by reception staff. Overall, a great place to stay, and hope to return."

"The location of the hotel is very central and great! It’s near the Waverley train station which is a walking distance, and a lot of nearby tourist attractions. We were provided big and clean rooms. We can’t select different room types when booking via Expedia and had to raise this to the staff when we arrived and my request was accommodated so thank you!"

"We booked for a short 5 day stay and were glad to realise it was such a close proximity to restaurants, souvenir stores, Victoria Street and the famous Edinburgh castle! The staff were friendly upon arrival HOWEVER we were told by one gentlemen that our room was not ready but to rest assure when it would be, we would have a wonderful view of the castle during our stay. When our time came to check in a women gave us our room but it was on the opposite end of the hotel so we did not get the view...

"Lovely hotel, great service. Loved the room for me on my own but personally wouldn’t want to be sharing with someone else as the toilet and shower are in the room behind frosted glass. If you go to the toilet in the night a very bright night light comes on and takes a long time to go off lighting up the room. "

"Everything is very good. A huge improvement in all areas since being taken over by Marriott. The morning coffee however really lets the hotel down. Very weak filter coffee severed from a large container is not what you would expect from a 4 star establishment."

"Bathroom is awful. Glass door, size lack of shower curtain, lack of water pressure. Carpet stains in room. Lobby area was cold as doors frequently open. Dining was very good and staff excellent!"

"Lovely hotel, staff friendly & helpful. Able to leave luggage re check in/out, which is pretty handy. Rooms very clean & comfy. Unfortunately windows had locks on them and our room was rather warm, otherwise good. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant. Plenty of choices. Would definitely stay there again & recommend to anyone. "
