"We stayed here on our way to Basel for New Years and it was a quaint little hotel near a skiing hotspot. The fog in the area was quite thick so we unfortunately couldn’t take in the beauty of the area. The breakfast was rather limited compared to other places we stayed and parking was across the street in a shopping plaza lot but close enough not to be inconvenient. There were only a couple of restaurants that were open nearby and most people were in town for the skiing. Sad we couldn’t take one...

"The hotel was great, the lake view beautiful, friendly staff, nice included breakfast. Dog friendly (we had our two fur babies with us). The only complaint was that being a vegan there were no vegan options on the menu. They did try to accommodate me with a pasta dish but it wasn’t good at all though I appreciated the effort. The restaurant and drink prices are quite high but Switzerland is expensive. You need a car for that location. All in all a nice stay. "

"We stayed at the Seehotel Kastanienbaum between 28/12 2024 - 1/1 2025. Upon arrival the greeting was very friendly (and in perfect English). We were given details of the hotel, breakfast times, amenities such as Hot Tub and Sauna Boat for hire etc. We were also given a FREE bus pass for the duration of our stay. The bus service to and from Lucerne was regular and only 20 mins, the bus stop is literally 30 seconds from leaving the reception of the hotel. We used the bus every day. The room...

"Small hotel close to the train station and about an 8-10 minute walk to the old town. The “big room” was spacious with a nice sitting area. I saw the “medium room” and it was big enough for 2 people. You may hear trams go by but it’s not loud and frequent. The area around the hotel is great with several coffee shops and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again."
