"On one side, this hotel looks out over a car park, on the other side over the sea or the harbour + abbey. You pay extra for views, but it is worth it: it is the best view you are going to get anywhere in Whitby. As for the hotel itself: it is showing its age, but has been well maintained e.g. updated bathrooms, beds are comfortable and exceptionally large. Good restaurant too. We were very happy there. Only minor complaint is no thermostatic valve on the showers. Other than that, this hotel is excellent."

"Cant fault this place for the price to be honest. Staff wee great and the beer was sensibly priced unlike in town. Good parking and 20 min walk into the city. Will stay again. "
