"This was our second time staying here. We enjoyed it just as much as, if not more than, the first time six years ago. We upgraded to VIP access this time, which got us nicer seating at restaurants (generally out on a patio instead of inside), access to a rooftop pool separate from the main pool, with its own lounge chairs and bar, a room in one of the top two floors of the hotel (ours was top floor), a bottle of champagne upon arrival, and a bar serving our floor exclusively but only in the evenings. That all was nice, but it's not a big difference from what you get for the regular rate. Everything is still quite nice without those extras. The room was clean, quiet and well-designed with plenty of space and a balcony. The biggest plus was the outdoor area. It was nice being away from the crowd for a while at the rooftop pool, but we spend most of our time in the chairs on the beach or by the main pool. We never had trouble getting a chair, but it was close sometimes. I think if they had been busier we might have missed out on chairs sometimes. What sets this place apart is the number of trees and amount of shade on the beach. (Or you can choose to be out in full sunlight.) We've stayed at three places in PV, and researched a dozen others, and this beach area beats anything else we've seen. Full range of ages staying there, from toddlers to retirees. Most of the crowd was maybe in their 40s and 50s. (We are retirees ourselves.) No crazy partiers; a nice atmosphere."

"I liked the location I didnt like the excessive over charge for drinks. I didnt like the fact that some rooms right below mine allowed smoking on their open balconies as the smoke entered my room .I liked the room size and the bathrooms. Maid service was first class."

"We had an amazing time at Canto Del Sol. The staff was helpful and friendly, the daily and nightly entertainment was fun and engaging, beautiful grounds and the pools were clean. The buffet was good with a nice assortment of foods. The a la carte restaurants were top notch food and service. Book those early in your stay as we didn't get to try one of them that we wanted. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in the mountain section. This was the only disappointment of the trip. Although the room was clean, everything was very old. The kitchen needs to be removed as it wasn't stocked with anything usable, and really who needs a kitchen at an all inclusive? The tubs and sinks all need replacing, none of them had working stoppers. Even cheap simple things, that are easy to fix,like a missing knob to pull for the shower, as well as shower curtain rod clips. We thought about buying a set for them while we were there. The beds were old, but still comfortable. We didn't go to Mexico to spend our days inside though, so it really wasn't a big deal for us. The experience of everything else overshadows the minor inconveniences, but i could see some people making a big deal over this. Would definitely stay there again, but maybe try a different section of the resort than the mountain suites"

"We have been there three times now, and are always sad to leave. The resort is very nice the people are so friendly and helpful. We met senor Javier the customer service manager I think. He was so incredibly helpful dealing with our room issue. The guy is a treasure indeed. He always was very interested in how we were enjoying our time there. We loved the room and the view we had of the ocean. The servers at the restaurants never seemed to have a bad day. I had some interactions with front desk ,Luisa was always smiling. The marina is a short walk away. We will definitely return only to stay longer"
