The owners were perfect hosts and the hotel and gardens are a calming oasis in the middle of town. "This is a fantastic place to stay. Close to public transport. Well appointed, spacious rooms. The staff were incredible, especially Meliesa, who will definitely win receptionist of the year. She went over and beyond, train tickets, bus timetables, city card, recommendations of places to visit all with a cheerful, happy demeanour. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castelnou Apartments and would recommend it to any traveller."

"It is an historic hotel with many antiquities in the décoration. The location is perfect near the canal. It is quiet but there is no escalator and the room was on the 5th floor. The beakfast was included and we liked the food. But ithe price for a night is a bit expensive. The owner was a gentleman ."

"The staff we were wonderful - they responded to an advance email requesting a walk in shower immediately.Room very comfortable & spotless with good bed & then excelled themselves as when I got to train station to leave I realized my phone had slipped out of my pocket in back of cab. On it were my Eurostar tickets & all personal & banking stuff - I called the hotel who immediately called the cab company & alerted the driver who found the phone & brought it back to station - disaster averted - I...

"We had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel. The rooms are smallish but you get everything you need, although maybe an in room kettle would be useful. The shower was always warm and a good pressure on the water. The bed was very comfortable. Our room (239) was on the second floor towards the rear of the hotel so was a very quiet room. The food at breakfast was really nice and plenty of it, so felt good value. The staff were helpful and polite. The hotel is a great location for exploring Ghent being a 5 minute or so walk from the Cathedral, Belfry etc. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, it was a very enjoyable stay."

Gent is Beautiful and Hotel Location is A+

"We arrived to the hotel via tram from the train station. The location of this hotel is awesome! Literally the most popular sites are outside the door. The downside is that it was very noisy outside from people walking by very early in the morning. We kept the window open at night to get the room cool and for fresh air. The front staff and housekeepers whom we met were friendly. I loved hearing the church bells ringing. Overall, we would stay again. Gent captured our hearts. "
