"As far as I am aware I did not receive any VIP benefits. However,THIS is an excellent value hotel.A good size room and very nice bathroom.They served what they called a finger buffet for free Monday- Saturday 5pm-8pm which turned out to be far superior to a finger buffet. Breakfast was also very good. When I arrived it was served up until 11am but then reduced to 10am. 11am is far better for the likes of me. "Great hotel in a great location - clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower with good pressure. Breakfast was also great - weirdly they charge for coffee (Nespresso pods) they put in the room - rather put cheaper coffee in and don’t charge for it?"

"My stay at El Misti was superb!! I stayed in a private room during 7-13 November. It was my first time in Rio, and this was the perfect place to meet people!! They organise lots of events, and having easy access to the beach with a ticket for a free chair is an addes bonus! I can definitely recommend El Misti to others, and will likely stay here (or at least visit the amazing bar during happy hour!!) when I return, muito obrigado El Misti!! Tom"

"We stayed in a regular room, everything was good but the AC. Not sure if it was because it was hot outside but AC was at 17° C and it felt like 23 C. A central metal piece of the window was loose and it make some noise as the AC was an old model and it shakes while it was working. Real highlight here is that everything else was fantastic. "

The place itself is very well located, but the bunkers are not very solid and are made from light wood (I was on the top one and all night waking up because every time the guest underneath me moved, the whole bed moved too). "Staff were very polite although surprised that they did not have more information on trips/ bicycle hire etc. but this is only a small negative to what is an amazing location. Supermarket, pharmacy and shops within 100m. There is a full deluxe hotel in the same chain opposite. "
