"The room was very nice, although we were a little surprised about the open cistern (partially covered by plexi-glass) in the room. I guess that is what it means to be in a cave hotel! "The property is absolutely wonderful. Rooms are big enough for a 2 night stay. Wasn't a fan of shower over the bath as bath was quite high. Buffet breakfast had plenty to offer but no cooked eggs/bacon ie scrambled or fried. Location is great as walking distance to just about everything. Enjoyed the Thermae....something different! "It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! I know it is not the same in every room as every room has a special design and decoration. The reception and the breakfast room are also beautiful. We loved the big terrasse where we could enjoy the sun...
