"Spent the night here with my partner it was amazing. Nigel and Robina the owners were very friendly and welcoming they took an imterest in us as their guests. They showed us to our room and were always around. Breakfast was a full english and was 10/10. The room was cute spacious with a lovely bathroom. The estate itself is large but is in good condition. "It was our third visit to the Jolly Drover and we have always returned because the beds and bedding are so comfy and the accommodation is simple but well maintained. We have stayed in different rooms and this time were in room 6. Everything was fine until we got into bed. The mattress was so awful that you could feel the slats on the bed. I nearly fell out on one occasion. It was a horrible night and very sad because we were exhausted after a long drive from Wales and settling a family member...

"Lovely location, comfy bed, nice and quiet when pub closes at 11pm (wasn't very noisey before then) parking on site, bottled water and biscuits in room, spacious room. Fantastic Full English Breakfast included, probably the best I've ever had; thanks Chef Matt 🏆 Arthur & Kay were very friendly, helpful and efficient 🙏 A great place to stay, eat and drink, thank you! "Excellent traditional English inn with lots of charm and character. The comfortable, warm room on a freezing January night was most welcome, as were the open log fires in the bar/restaurant. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and the food was to a very good standard. The Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Bitter was an unexpected bonus !"

Exceeded expectations.

"Our first child free night away in 5 years to celebrate a 40th birthday. We had stayed in an ibis in Sheffield before and didn’t have many strong feelings about it. It was good as a base, but nothing special. This one in Portsmouth was so lovely. From the fish tank in the lobby, & the very well priced drinks, it was perfect for us. The breakfast was very enjoyable, and the free pastry was such appreciated. We will very much be returning."
