"The staff speak English as well as Japanese. This beautiful hotel is near a quiet shrine. It is a fair walk from Takayama, bit there is a free shuttle that runs between Takayama Station (Tabino Hotel Satellite, across the street) and the hotel in the morning and afternoon/evening. They provide pajamas, slippers, and yukata for wearing in the hotel and going to the onsen baths. (Tattoos OK!) We lost a key card and they didn't even charge us for it. :) Lovely place."

"Fantastic view from the 6th floor balcony, a short walk from the train station and right in the heart of the city on the highstreet. Not many facilities in the hotel, a bar andbistro in the lobby and a sauna that requires a reservation, all bathing is done privately in your room. City views surrounded by mountains on all sides made the balcony our highlight, a great place to take in the fresh mountain air and relax. The Tatami room was a close second with 4 bean bags and a table to sit...

"Chisun Grand is just 3 mins’ walk from Takayama station. This is my second time staying at the same exact hotel in Nagoya as I liked it for its location. Hotel room is clean, big by Japanese standards ( I had a twin share). The bath room is also larger than average hotel bath room size.
