"This place is a gem! The decor is amazing. Antiques filled the rooms; pictures everywhere; lots of Mardi Gras themed items; bowls of candy and snacks. Breakfast was really good. Richard was a great host. I loved his two poodles. I felt safe, warm and so content in my four-poster bed in the Governors Suite. I will be back and probably bring my girlfriends."

"The hotel was excellent. It was trying get refund from Expedia.com My husband had a tractor accident and he was in ICU and transferred to another hospital and fighting with Expedia trying to get my money refunded. They still have not refunded my money. I will never use Expedia again "

"Overall very good. One thing that I noticed was the breakfast prep lady (who was very nice) had gloves on touching everything including luggage carts, then right back to handling the food items. Same gloves.. Ive seen this happen in other places. Are the gloves to protect them or us???"

"The staff were very friendly and exceptional. I can only speak for our room, but it was not the cleanest. Noticed stains on the carpet and sofa. But it was not too bad. The breakfast was very good and lot of options. Overall experience was nice. "
