"I usually stay at a nearby hotel but gave the James Cook a go. I was certainly not disappointed as the room was spacious, clean, modern and in a great city location. I got room service one night and the food was tasty and piping hot. I didn’t try the restaurant or bar (lobby bar is currently closed). Overall, great vslue for money. "

"Great hotel! This property is situated on the other side of the lake from town. So the atmosphere is a bit more laidback and the surrounding is beautiful! Rooms are super clean and modern. I just wish the breakfast area was open and had windows! Felt claustrophobic. "

"A nice hotel, in a great location on the waterfront. Close to public transport and the Te Papa museum. Room was spacious with a clean, modern bathroom. Helpful staff and reception were able to store my luggage for the day. Dated furniture in the bedroom with marks and stains but sheets and towels were clean. I would stay here again. "

"Had a lovely stay at the Holiday Inn Express here in Auckland! It's very central if you want to explore the city center by foot. Lots of great restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and parks all so close by. This hotel has pretty much all you need to get the day started for your adventures with comfortable beds, nice staff and lots of options for breakfast!"
