"This was part of a longer trip for us, a road trip of the South Island, What a wonderful gem we found. All the staff were lovely, the room facilities were more than we thought, the breakfast room was lovely, Even though we might never visit this area again (we are from the UK) we would definately recommend to our friends wanting to visit the area. "A very well appointed room, very functional, spacious and spotlessly clean, and daily housekeeping and replenishment of coffee, tea etc. An awesome balcony to sit and relax on with a cup of coffee, and a great location - just a 10 minute stroll to the vibrant Bridge Street or the Centre for Musical Arts. One aspect that could be improved was the lack of air conditioning but the fan was fairly effective to ameliorate the uncomfortably warm room after a sunny summer's day. "

"The Beachcomber Hotel has an excellent location, across the street from a large park, with the beach just past the park. There is also restaurants very close by. Our room was a bit small but met our needs. There is not air conditioning, but a fan helped."

"We were only at Hotel Nelson for about 12 hours, selecting it because the front desk was open later than most other options and we had a late flight. The room was spacious and we were able to use the pool (nice) the next morning."

"A quaint hotel with lots happening on a Sunday afternoon from the guitar playing and singing group to the weekend long lunch crowd enjoying the beautiful outdoor area at the front. My single room (double bed) was very quiet. "
