"Bit of a bumpy start. Check in 45 minutes later after being given our key to a family room that had not been cleaned at all. And the other 2 rooms not ready either. Deputy manager did sort it out in tyne end and complimentary drinks which was nice. Food in the restaurant was fine. Hotel rooms were nice. Treatments were good and relaxing. "We found the property clean but lacking, certainly not "Superb". The decor was sparse e.g. bare light bulbs. Negatives Bathroom: no mirror, no towel rails, only one hand towel in the property for three. Kitchen: Two sets of knives & forks for three, no large glasses or wine glasses, no fire blanket/extinguisher, no downstairs smoke alarm I could spot. "Room had an adjoining room door that wasnot sound proofed. So second night was not good and woken at 615am by very noisy neighbour. Door needs to be sound proof. As this is sold as their superior room.Damed poor show. We did get discounted pool use."

"I use The Three Horseshoes ever time I am in the North East on business. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and lovely food. The restaurant can get busy which is testament to the quality of the food and beer. "

"An old farm house, located directly on a crossroads, with views over the countryside. The room was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. It was more a guest house than a B&B, with the main rooms, including the kitchen, available to everyone. Guests avail themselves of supplies and facilities to make their own breakfast. "Lovely traditional English guest house hotel. Simple arrival and check out, good breakfast with great options (menu choice, vegan, veggie, gf etc). Friendly staff, comfy bed (my ‘single’ was a small double) and no noisy air con/heating systems etc. A steep walk up from the city centre but not too far and no problem for me."
