"It’s odd that the main concern here is asking travellers to pay for their stay the moment they arrive/walk back in to the property/constantly. Payment on check-put is the norm and it’s strange to continually stay in places like this in Sri Lanka where they’re just obsessed with money. We’re all going to pay you for our stays - that’s normal. Please just let us be here and enjoy and pay on departure - which is standard. "

The foliage has been maintained very well to give the property a serene and thick green cover, which adds to the calm. The best part of the property of course are the people. "To call this a 3-star hotel is an absolute understatement. This boutique hotel is full of charm and character, offering an experience that far exceeds its rating. We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean Front room, which was stunning. The room was spacious, the bathroom was modern and spotless, and the private balcony was the icing on the cake. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They accommodated our early travel schedule by packing us a breakfast to-go on the first day and served breakfast on our balcony the next. Whether it's the front desk or the 24/7 security guard, you're always greeted with a warm smile. The shared oceanfront terrace offers a spectacular view of the sunset — a perfect place to unwind. Highly recommended."

"This is a lovely historic house presented with style and charm, and high standards. The staff provide the best service and are very attentive. Setting is just gorgeous with visiting shy groups of purple-faced leaf monkeys and peacocks passing through along the high walls and trees from time as you sit in the cool palm filled courtyards. And added, an excellent menu with both traditional and modern mix so well presented and tasty served in a lovely restaurant-bar setting on the deep verandahs. "

"The hotel has character but it is very basic. Breakfast is not available. There is no restaurant. The wifi mostly did not work. There was a complex device for showers that did not work properly and flooded the bathroom. The towels had seen better days. There was no TV. The room was not serviced in the three days I stayed in Galle. On the positive side, the location on Church St was excellent, the AC and fan both worked, there was a small fridge, and there was a pleasant balcony with chairs. The cost was about the same as the Ramada in Colombo, but there was no comparison in terms of comfort or amenities. I had completely the wrong impression of this very small hotel from the Expedia description."
