The Mountain Goat Beer Brewery range of beers is comprehensive to say the least, with a host of classic and specialty beers to choose from. Boasting 100 percent certified organic beers, the taproom is housed in a warehouse renovated with reclaimed materials and offering plenty of room for you and your mates and their mates too.
From humble beginnings in Melbourne over 20 years ago, Mountain Goat has grown to accomplish some pretty impressive feats, including collaborations with international breweries and gold medal and trophy winning brews. The brewery also released one of Australia’s first organic beers. In 2015, Mountain Goat entrusted some of its production to Asahi Premium Beverages.
Learn more about the business and the beers on the free tour of the brewery, held Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons, then settle in for a tasting session. If you’re feeling peckish there’s pizza on the menu and sometimes the odd food truck rolling through.
Mountain Goat is located close to the Yarra River in Richmond, to the east of Melbourne’s CBD. To get here, take a tram from the city after which it’s about a 10-minute walk. If you feel like cycling in, the brewery is more than happy to accommodate your bike. For designated drivers, there’s on-street metered parking in the neighbourhood.
