"Loved the proximity to the airport. It was super convenient to be able to walk over to the terminal. What was not so convenient is the lights in the room. You have to turn the main on to turn the bathroom light on and then the bar light comes on too. Not very convenient when you need to get up during the night."

"We got such a warm welcome when we arrived. The hotel is lovely- the opposite of most Scandinavian decor hotels which are all wood and minimalist. This was even more perfectly cozy and enveloping because it is winter. Our room was spacious and well lit. There was radiant heat in the bathroom so the floors were toasty. "Hotel is just a short walk to the airport. Very quiet room and comfortable. Everything done to simplify things (and reduce costs) for the hotel like self booking in, clearing own tray at breakfast (like Ikea) but staff on hand if any issues. The breakfast is fantastic with huge variety of hot and cold."

"We were not given the large room we had deliberately booked, so 2 stars down just for that. The hotel is designed for conferences and large corporate events. During our stay it was virtually empty. In the lobby there are plenty of large, modern and uncomfortable chairs and sofas. I did not find somewhere relaxing to sit, certainly not in the room either. Breakfast was good and staff always had a smile."

"Nice hotel in perfect location. The staff were all lovely and welcoming, the room was the right size, I would have loved a bath but to be fair I didn’t specify so that’s on me! One of the best breakfast buffets and options I’ve ever had. I’d absolutely stay here again and fully recommend. "

"First off, it’s a gorgeous building in the perfect location in Bergen. The Freschohalle and BARE are both exceptional, and the staff are great. There were some several minor room issues to point out however. We had a loft suite. If you are more than about 180cm/70in, don’t get a loft suite. You have to duck everywhere. The shower is open to the whole bathroom, so water gets everywhere. There is also a lack of space to place anything in the bathroom. The plugs aren’t in particularly convenient...

"Great location. I love the onsite evening restaurant/bar. They just redid the interior of the restaurant. The food is good but a little inconsistent. I had the "chef special" mushroom and blue cheese soup twice in 3 days and the first time it was amazing while the second time it was flat with odd additions (I think it was daikon - a flavourless and odd texture in a creamy mushroom soup). Overall, a cozy place worth a visit."

"After a LONG trip, we dragged into the lobby and Inga was amazing. She upgraded our room (to Accessible - we're old and must have looked awful) with a view over the harbor to Bryggen. The room was quiet, spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good quality with relaxed seating. Central location made extensive walks around the city very comfortable. Happily booked another two nights to recover after our 12-day Hurtigruten voyage."
