"Our stay here was amazing. The staff makes you feel like a 5 star guest, service was awesome. They sat down with us every evening to take our breakfast orders, refilled our individual water pitchers and left truffles every night, and kept the key while we went out (someone will answer the front door for you, reception is 24 hours). Room was spotless, and our balcony view on the fifth floor was phenomenal! Large, comfy bed, great shower, robes and slippers. Really cannot recommend enough."

"The hotel was the most charming and beautiful I have ever experienced. The attention to detail from the staff was superb. Handwritten welcome note with a bottle of port and truffles and a lovely birthday handwritten message with champagne on ice and a birthday brownie awaited me. The balcony overlooking the rooftops and Douro River was enchanting. Despite being a bit off the beaten path it was still easy to walk to everything and added to the charm. It was perfect. "Alfonso couldn't have been more helpful upon our arrival. There are only 6 rooms, so it was very quiet. We had room 6 on the 4th floor. No elevator for us, but they did have a luggage elevator for which we were very grateful! Fantastic room with views over looking the Douro River and Gaia. Only problem was there was no parking available as stated on Expedia and street parking around the hotel has a 2 hour maximum. We parked on the street overnight and then moved to a garage in the morning...

"We absolutely loved our stay. It was cosy and clean at a good location near restaurants and bars. We barely needed to use any form of public transportation. Amenities were good - the bottle of wine was a nice touch. We were able to store our luggages after check out. Veronica who runs the place was super responsive with any questions we had. Overall no complaints. If there was one thing that we had to fault - it would be no full length mirrors. But this is a really minor point"

"This small hotel is a treasure. The property is beautiful and staff super. Our room was really lovely and clean. We had a door to the lovely garden terrace which is prefect for a glass of wine. The views of Porto are breathtaking. Breakfast is very nice and fresh in a great new garden center. The hotel has a garage for your car, make arrangements. They also let us leave our car in the garage as we took more of a look around. Now the street in front is narrow and steep, pretty exciting. ...

"Stayed here for 4 nights- the river view was amazing - we spent every night having some wine outside on our balcony. Rooms were a bit small but clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did the buffet for breakfast on our last day - it was a traditional scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses and assorted croissants and other baked goods - it was ok - but as with all hotel breakfast- you’re paying a high price for convenience. We enjoyed having drinks in the little bar one night since we were exhausted after spending all day walking. There’s not much near the hotel - so shopping and restaurants are a 10 minute walk away, and that might be 10 minutes uphill. Overall would recommend- note we were there in November and it was busy- can’t imagine what it’s like in the summer."
