"Amazing experience, staff was extremely kind and helpful especially with my little to no Japanese. Food service was a rush but arriving minutes, maybe 20-30mins before your time will benefit you. "This is a wonderful place to spend a few days. The ryokan is very authentically Japanese. The staff was helpful wherever we needed them. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"The owners and staff were very warm and welcoming. However, the structure was old and a little tired looking. Our sleeping room only had one electrical outlet with a lamp plugged into it. This made charging our iPhones and tablets difficult. Also, the one larger onsen was never available during our 4 day stay. Perhaps a sign up sheet with a 45 minute time slot could help make the onsen available to more visitors. On the positive side, the ryokan was well located a short distance from the train...
