"This is a beautiful resort in a beautiful location about 20 miles North of Kona. The views are beautiful, the pools are nice, there is a nice salt lake lagoon that is connected to the ocean. The biggest downside is the need to walk. The resort is designed to be unnecessarily large and you need to walk quite a bit to get from some place to another, to the extent that walking can take away from the fun. "The rooms could use a little upgrade. There should be more chairs in the shade for free. All the good chairs are reserved. You shouldn’t have to pay for a shaded seat. For the cost of the room, you should get snorkel equipment for more than one hour. Other than that, I loved the property. Staff was excellent and the dining was great too. "

"Great property that is far superior to a hotel. Having a full kitchen and laundry, multiple bathrooms and bedrooms for the same or less expense as a hotel makes Paniolo Greens my favorite choice on Big Island. "

"We enjoy staying here. Ample space for family of 5, clean, and prompt response via text to housekeeping needs. The reason we did not rate our stay as 5 star is die to our pool experience. They ran out of pool towels and asked us to return later and even then they inly had 3 pool towels. I wish they had pool towel service like Kings Land. It is inconvenient and made our experience less enjoyable. "

"Fairmont Gold at Kona is an an outstanding venue. People are trained, courteous and efficient. The price-value relationship is a winner. Comment, the beautiful tile floor in the shower was so slick neither my wife nor I dared use the shower. We are both healthy by the way, wanted to stay that way. A simple synthetic shower mat would be all that would have been needed. "

"The villas property itself was good, nice walking distance to the shops and Marriott where we went for a luau. The pool was on the smaller side but kids loved it. We stayed in one of the older units so it was dated which didn't bother me. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable though. The utensils and items in the kitchen were very minimal. "This place is 15-20 minutes up the hill from any beach. Do not let that stop you from staying here. Worth the drive. The condo is on hole 3 of the golf course. Great views. The pool is 100ft away. Everything is clean and well stocked. The communication with the management company was exceptional. Check in and out was easy."

"The Islands at the Mauna Lani were incredible. Great location on the NW side of the island means lots of sun (and sunsets) with the occasional breeze. The villa was spotless and well stocked - really felt like a home away from home. The Islands have their own pool (which was often empty!) complete with a waterfall and a cave which proved popular with the kids. You also get access to the beach club which is a short drive or a 20 minute hike (through beautiful lava fields and fish ponds) away. "

"Easy check-in. Just the basics, bedroom and bathroom. Linens were clean and fresh. Open air rooms. Affordable. Shared microwave in the common room so we could heat our breakfast. Staff were very friendly and recommended local shopping and coffee options all in walking distance. This is a no frills property. If you want to slow down and relax, this is the place with an authentic Big Island vibe."
