"Loved the property, its location by the sea its personel and owners. The restaurant with italian food. Service great, special mention Colin in the receprion, Joy in the restaurant and Leila who cleaned my room.
Did not like the floors in the bathroom as very alippery when wet."
"Great property. Loved the stay here. Advised us of the local rules and things to pay attention to. I enjoyed the beachfront and the ability to lounge basically on the beach. The resturant had good options and get fresh juice.
Only drawback was the wi-fi strength and stability inside the room, it kept cutting in and out. Also there was a limit to the amount of devices that would be connected with the code given.
Overall, would definetly recommend staying here. "
"I do NOT recommend that hotel. Old style boxxy hotel from the 1980'. Super small bathroom and shower with a plastic curtain. For the toilet, you litterally stand in the shower : unacceptable. Ok it is clean and there is a small unattractive pool. It is worth no more than 50 €, a sort of ok 2 stars lodge. No Zanzibar dream at all.
Breafast is ok.
Hotel is situated in second line from the beautiful beach. There are much nicer hotels ON the beach.
Without a car, you are trapped in an ugly back...
"Hakuna Majiwe is a safe, clean, and well-maintained location, offering a pleasant living environment. It is advisable to prepare a well-structured budget, as there may be unexpected costs, such as the Zanzibar government tourism taxes. While prices are somewhat higher than average, which is typical for similar destinations, the quality of services provided is excellent and meets expectations."
"Struttura nuova e molto ben curata! Personale a dir poco fantastico, gentilissimo e disponibile a qualunque richiesta.
Unica pecca, il percorso per raggiungere il mare. Bisogna attraversare un villaggio, che a priori potrebbe intimorire gli ospiti ma che poi alla fine risulta invece una piacevole esperienza, dove si vede come vivono i residenti. "
"The hotel is OK. If you shower everything is going to get wet in the bathroom. Very varying access to electricity. The food was good and service was good. But a man that said he owned the place kept smoking marijuana outside our window, so that was very uncomfortable. It smells a lot and he would not stop even though we asked nicely. "

Sea View Lodge Boutique Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay at Seaview was beautiful, the staff were amazing, the food was lovely, can’t understand why there are some bad reviews as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The scenery was stunning having breakfast and looking out to sea, the dinners were very reasonable, cheap and lovely, me and my girlfriend Enjoyed ourselves very much and I hope to return at some point, thanks again to all the staff that took care of us, (we loved the cats) the hotel was very authentic in it’s architecture and being situated in the village meant we got to explore the local lifestyle/shops and overall ambience. Perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed vibe, it felt personal, like the staff understood us and our preferences"
"Our stay at the Bamboo Hotel was truly wonderful. The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the unique architectural design—where you can gaze out at the ocean as if it’s a living, breathing TV screen—is incredibly relaxing.
The rooms were spotless and clearly well-maintained; the staff does an exceptional job keeping everything clean and comfortable. Service was excellent—everyone was warm, attentive, and eager to make our stay enjoyable.
The food was delicious, and we especially loved the fresh juices—they were refreshing and full of flavor.
Overall, we highly recommend the Bamboo Hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by beautiful waters and top-notch service."

"Me and my girlfriend spent time in Zanzibar to celebrate our birthdays. I found Samawa Living as I looking for a nice Place to stay for the week. Booking our room was straightforward and they even supporting with transportation from the Airport and back, which will cost a fee since it is an hour away. Upon checking we were greeted by the host that evening and shown our beautiful room. Also the food was amazing as well. Please not that this a Muslim country for the most part and the don't eat pork. Which was fine but please make sure you try the Beef Bacon. Lastly I would recommend taking advantage of the amenities. my lady and I got a massage that was so amazing and I also spent time in the mini Gym getting some workouts in as well the ice bath. Overall we had a wonderful stay."
"This small hotel is beautiful. The rooms are wonderful and very well stocked with all you need.
The staff are very helpful and all spoke very good English.
The food was amazing and very tasty, good selection of veggie stuff for the wife too.
Overall just a great stay."
"This is the best villa we’ve stayed at. It’s right on Jambiani beach which is a really beautiful and calm beach (compared to Paje and those in the north such as Nungwi and Kendwa). It has only 3 villas with a pool, so there’s privacy and it’s quiet.
We stayed 4 nights at the second floor villa (Bibi Juu) which had a large balcony where we had our breakfast while looking out at the Indian Ocean. Breakfast was provided by the lovely housekeeper, Rehema, and was a huge spread of eggs, fruits, different types of bread, fruit juice, granola, yogurt, coffee and milk.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Selina, the manager, provided a lot of information and readily answered all our questions. They can help you to do grocery runs and also almost anything you need like organising a bbq in the villa. There was also a security guard on the property at night who was friendly.
Highly recommend Babu Villas for the perfect beach holiday in Zanzibar!"
