"What a truly great experience. Having been in Keene Valley in the same house 50 years ago, it was a pleasure to see it being cared for and run and such a beautiful way. Kelly, the manager, couldn’t have been More delightful. Preparing breakfast and always there for questions or advice on where to go out to dinner or tge next mountain to climb.. "Our family stayed here on a ski trip to Whiteface. The hotel is across the street from the mountain and is a great base camp, especially when you’re skiing with kids and have a lot to prep/do to get ready! We were here during a very large snow storm and the driveway was plowed and accessible even with the constant snow dumping! Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice base camp away and will spending most of your time outdoors. Beautiful view of the mountain! "

"If you like a room that smells humid and like an old cigarette, this is a place for you. The room hasn’t been upgraded in a generation and the shower had water damage and black mold on the ceiling. The pool and hottub were shut down, and looked like they had been for a while. Of course they didn’t provide notice of any of this, especially to a family coming up to enjoy skiing, and all the outdoor activities the Lake Placid area has to offer, and would love nothing else but to soak in a hot tub...

"The check in and check out process is very unorthodox but extremely easy and simple. I was a little worried when I went into the office/welcome room to get the key because it smells like cigarettes, but the room itself was perfect. You can tell they are updated rooms and look exactly like the pictures shown. They even have that fresh wood smell which makes the room feel like you’re in a cabin and not just a room. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back. "
