"It is a nice hotel even though the entrance way is ugly. The staff are very pleasant, especially the gentleman who checked us in and served us breakfast. We didn't get the same warmth from the owner. The 'free toiletries' was a small bar of soap but this seems to be the case in a lot of the cheaper hotels. We stayed in the deluxe double room which while nice, wasn't deluxe. The bathroom window also backed onto to an area where bottles were discarded and it was easy for someone to see in.

"A good place with a good location close to the jungle beach. The hotel hasn’t been upgraded in a few years, but is still clean and the staff is really helpful."
"everything is made to make you feel welcome, the staff is wonderful, from the cleaners to the pool technician, the cooks , the people at the reception and the manager, thank you all for this lovely stay!
the place is a little paradise on earth, the rooms, the restaurant, the swimming pool, the location, one of the best place we ever stay.
2 steps away from the beach, jungle, shopping, restaurants etc.., but away from the busy main street.
will defitinely come back!"
"Large rooms with comfortable bed right on the beach. Easy walking to many tourist shops and many restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood available from these restaurants. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. The restaurant prepared a seafood grill each night and set tables with candies at the edge of the surf. Breakfast was very good with lots of fruit and an omelette station as well as curry. Can’t go wrong staying here. "
"A sweet and kind family run -hotel that is in a great location. They were super helpful if you ever needed anything. Your mins away from a beautiful Beach. "
"small hotel, big mess behind the reception desk and in the open store room. First they
had to change the dirty sheets, a TV with no connection, the room needs a makeover. In
short the hotel is largly overpriced, not to be recomended. A new pool is beeing built,
no time for maintenance."

Top Japanese Peace Pagoda Hotel Reviews
Araliya Beach Resort & Spa Unawatuna- Where you meet the sea all year
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing beautiful gorgeous serene place! The best in the area!!! "
"We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The room, staff and views were amazing. This hotel is in a quiet location and has everything you could want in a holiday stay. "
"Hotel: Levels Unawatuna
Room no: Superior Double
Staff: 10/10
Location: 10/10
Cleanliness: 10/10
Soundproofing: 2/10 (music from pool area)
Blockout curtains: Yes, but light from the hallway shines through the sides of the blinds.
Comments: Spectacular view. Electronic dance music/subwoofer from pool area is loud and can be heard in the room, even though there was no people at the pool. Made it feel like more of a nightclub vibe than a hotel. The music didn’t stop until 9.15pm when I called reception to ask what time the music stops. It commenced again the following morning at 8.20am. The water pressure in the shower is poor. Very hard to wash the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. Breakfast is included. If you’re vegan or have coeliac disease you can only eat the fruit. If you’re vegetarian you can only eat the fruit and eggs. If we had booked more than one night I would have been incredibly disappointed. The dinner menu is alright though."
"The location is mesmerizing with crashing waves and blue waters up to the hotel sea wall. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent seafood. Modern rooms and facilities."
"Nice facility, our room was fairly unique with some fake rock. Our daughter's room had a cool outdoor bathtub. You get great use of two other Thambapanni resorts in the area. Rooms are large and interesting. Very musty. The air conditioner needed to be maintained to keep mildew out. Clothes drying rack, nice bathroom and good breakfast. Super accommodating staff.
Unawatuna is a bit of a Russian tourist trap. Aggressive tuktuk drivers and merchants. Jungle Beach nice but crowded. The Sea Waves restaurant is awesome for dinner! "
"Enjoyed my stay. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel itself is nice but the rooms are a bit dated. I would consider this a 4 not 5 star hotel.
Special shout-out to Subhadra who was fantastic from housekeeping my entire staff. Definitely a highlight.
Would recommend this hotel. "
