"Beautiful heritage property with lots of interesting quirks and fab decor. Loved that we had several dining options. Local craft markets within the grounds of the hotel was such a bonus. Staff were attentive though on one occasion one or two at reception could have done better. Overall very enjoyable stay and wish we could have experienced it for more than one night. Definitely recommend."

"The employees are very nice and attentive. The property is new and clean. Occasionally you get asked what is your room number multiple times during a meal. I think one time should be enough. One thing I didnt like: constant cleaning during service at the restaurant. It just doesn't feel right to be eating and someone to be constantly mopping and cleaning around you. Please, clean before and after service hours or if there is spill. Thank you. "

"Bujan picked me up at the airport as pre-arranged and transferred me to the hotel. It was a pleasant comfortable journey and Bujan was friendly and hospitable. He proved equally friendly at the hotel checkin and efficiently got me set up in a well appointed spacious room with a nice view of the pool and garden for my short stay. "I have stayed at Jay Suites on two occasions and will definitely stay again if I return to Kathmandu. The owner and all staff were excellent, everything worked, and it was decent value for the money. You might find a room for a bit cheaper but will there be hot water, working AC, eorking remote control, elevator, in-room fridge, free water, good breakfast, etc? You get that and more at Jay Suites."

Newa Chen is absolutely delightful

"First time in Kathmandu, picked this for it's fabulous location in a vibrant artsy neighborhood near Patan Darbur Square as a friend was staying nearby. I am so very happy I picked this place. Wonderful historic place with a wing added that is more modern but in keeping with the original architecture, the room I booked was in the new section so the ceilings are high and the windows face over the courtyard to the original part of the hotel. The courtyard is delightful, providing a calm sanctuary from the bustling neighborhood around and we met the owner there one evening as he lit his offering - the original family live in a part of the old house. The bed was fantastically comfortable the bathroom super clean and fresh, the staff happily lugged my suitcase up and down from my room. I think it has something like ~ 14 of the 'Superior' rooms in the new section, so it's not a big place which means it is intimate and the desk and kitchen staff know who you are the minute you arrive - totally charming, Newa Chen will now be my go to preferred guest house in Kathmandu any time I'm here.. (and ..it's really close to the airport, so not too much sitting in crazy traffic to get here)."
