"Room was clean and did not smell. Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, it was not stale it was fresh. No I did not report it to the front desk. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom needed some work. There were cracks in the shower, grout was peeling off. Corner in bathroom was dirty. We could hear a noise as if someone was banging on a door every 10 minutes or so. that did stop around 10:30PM. If I had to stay here again i probably would. Breakfast was good."

"The facility was nice, clean and we enjoyed our stay. The room was stayed in was noisy. Not other guests, not sure if it was an outside generator, if it was because we were at the end of a hall. That was the only negative."

"My stay at this hotel was great until the front desk decided that they wanted to charge as the hours went by so originally my family started to check in at 2 o’clock on a Saturday. The first person was charged an additional hundred dollars for a security deposit the next person was charged $200 for a security deposit and the last person was charged $250 for a security deposit. "Jock and Ronnie at the front desk took great care to ensure that I was comfortable during my stay. And earlier in the morning when I needed to check a bag so I could head to work, Tony assured me my room would be available when I returned mid afternoon. I appreciate that these gentlemen were always welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. The River Hotel has become my go-to hotel for my stays in Chicago. It’s hard to find teams that provide great service consistently AND even recognize you from stay to stay so you feel like you’re at home when you arrive. Thank you! "
