"This is a very basic “motel” type of property. Our room overlooked the parking lot with our window directly in front of a parked car We asked to be moved and got a room on the back side facing some greenery but had a passageway for staff hauling noisy laundry carts right outside the window. Hallway rugs are tired and worn. Atmosphere was institutional and soulless. Location is off a round about in the middle of nowhere with poor signage to find the property. "Old charming manor that is one of the best in Cotswolds. Having stayed at a couple others including Lords of the Manor, the positives of this one in comparison are: its easier to get to from London, the grounds are amazing and impeccable, its a truly remote feel among the hills, land and animals of Cotswolds, and the michelin starred Dining Room is probably the best food in the Cotswolds. The only real obvious negative vs say the Lords of the Manor is you arent in walking distance of a charming town/village. But since you most certainly will be renting a car to get here it is a small negative. Highly recommend this hotel!"
"Hotel easily found, free parking, free WiFi (which actually worked). Reception could not have been more helpful. Our suitcases were carried to our rooms. The choice of food on offer was good, waiting staff were courteous and helpful and service was good. We had intended to have a meal in Tetbury but in fact had our meals at the Priory Inn.
I would say that the en-suite bathrooms are probably due a refresh. On the plus side, there were fans in the bedrooms and chilled fresh water available from a cabinet in the reception area.
Overall a superb place to stay for anyone visiting Highgrove."
