"Lovely apartment, bigger than expected. Bed was a small double, so if you’re used to a king size be prepared to snuggle up. Easy to find and park right outside. Not too far from the Cathedral. Dog friendly. "

"I had read a few reviews of The Dower House Apartments so I was expecting a lovely stay but none of those comments did the apartments justice. In short, the Dower House Apartments are perfect. Large rooms, tastefully decorated, luxurious furnishings, a modern, well-equipped kitchen 'to die for', and a host who cares about his clients. 10/10 really doesn't do the apartments justice."

"We did not receive the check-in details via e-mail so could not check in and ultimately not stay overnight. The phone number that was with the booking was supposed to be a helpdesk with the operator being anything but helpful. We had a look for help at the property but could not find anyone on two separate occasions; we were also astounded to discover that the accommodation was in the middle of a wedding venue and NOT the wedding we were attending. "A homely, comfortable property with everything you need for your stay. Communication from the owners was excellent before and during the stay. The house was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast left in the kitchen was well beyond what I expected - cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, cooked meats, yoghurt, juice and milk. I honestly don't know how the owners make a profit given the very reasonable price charged for this property. I am...

"The property is lovely. We had a look around when we got there and its spacious with plenty of storage. There was tea and sugar in the cupboards as well as a comprehensive welcome pack including a map and the menus of nearby takeaways. The beds are comfy, the sofa is comfy, the shower was good, theres also a downstairs bathroom whcih was great as we were 3 people. Would definitely stay here again."

"Do not stay here. Found hairs in beds, questionable stains on sheets, can’t explain the smell. Marks on walls, cracks in plaster that were more than hairline and damage everywhere. Needs refurbishing!"

"Made us feel welcome at Reception, helped with the reduced rate car parking. Room in good condition, had the essentials we needed. Great & close location to The Engine Shed at the Uni, for a music gig. And no more than 10 minutes walk to the city centre shops and restaurants. "

5 star treatment without the 5 star price!

"It may not be a 5 star hotel but I would give Tennyson 5 stars for the way guests needs are catered for. Entry was simple and effective thru key safe. the room was clean comfortable and warm - I returned from a meal at the local Wetherspoons (brilliantly converted cinema covered in lights!) to find the heating had come on and the room was warm as toast. Breakfast items were in the room with access to a kitchen kitted out with microwave, toaster etc. The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a decent size shower you could move in. For a handy overnight stop it was perfect and very reasonable. Woke up the next morning fully refreshed to be greeted by the first snowfall of the year..... Full marks Tennyson, keep up the good work."
