"Paid online. No one was there when we went to check in. Dogs growling at us viciously. We were forced to leave and find another place to stay. Still waiting to get our money back. I don't think that will happen as we have waited 4 days for a response to or email. Don't waste your money or time on this place. It states is 200 metres from centre of galle but its at least a 5000 rupee tuk tuk to get anywhere near galle city centre. Terrible experience, waste of my money."

"We loved our stay at Arabella. Loved the simplicity and size of the rooms. Kept very clean and tidy by the staff. Cute offering of bananas for supper in the room with the turn down service. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Pool area was on the small size but we had no problem using it when we wanted to. Kitchen and kitchen staff were A . Food and service was amazing highly recommend the chimichurri prawns & the prawn or fish tacos! All breakfast options were great also! Tuk Tuks available...

"Nice homestay with a lovely garden. 4km from the city centre. The open-air skylight in the bathroom is a lovely touch but it also lets the bugs in. The owner and is family are very welcoming. Breakfast was good and sufficient."

"The hotel has character but it is very basic. Breakfast is not available. There is no restaurant. The wifi mostly did not work. There was a complex device for showers that did not work properly and flooded the bathroom. The towels had seen better days. There was no TV. The room was not serviced in the three days I stayed in Galle. "Quiet, clean and relaxing guesthouse. Owner very friendly, considerate and helpful. Good breakfast with some Sri Lankan specialties. A/C in the rooms and a ceiling fan that can be turned up high if preferred to A/C. Bed very comfortable and spotless sheets. Short tuk tuk ride from the fort (maybe 2km?) for $1.50. Little hard to find at first without calling - mention Bandaranayika Place to tuk tuk. Maybe a clearer sign on the road by the drive? and the ebookers map showed it near the coast road...
