"The property has great views of the lake and is convenient to get to if you have a car. If not you have to take the boat to get to the hotel. The only problem we had during our stay was the limited options of food available as there are no restaurants nearby besides the hotel restaurant."

"I spent Christmas at Hotel Brienz. Breakfast was extensive and very organised and had a nice Christmassy feel as music was playing in the breakfast room. My bedroom was a superior double room on the corner of the hotel. One window looked out on the mountains and the balcony looked out on Lake Brienz. So beautiful. I was also very happy that the TV in my room had English channels on like ITV and BBC so I could watch the Gavin and Stacey finale 😁"

"The hotel and general area was very peaceful. The hospitality was great, and the staff made us feel right at home. The view from the hotel is amazing, being close to both the mountains and the lake. It was also very convenient to drive to beautiful cities, such as Bern, Thun, the local Brienz, and Grindelwald is also not too far. Certainly has a more cottage vibe, but it adds to the experience. Would 10/10 recommend for an authentic Swiss experience."

"We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue. The ride back gave us time to get caught on emails and send pictures and texts friends and family. We would stay there again. "

"Very nice and clean property right on the lake. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station which is convenient. When I was there there were a lot of families with young children and not a lot of young adults so it was not a very social hostel as a solo traveller, I do not know if it is always like this. "

"I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Dakota. The hotel is a very short and easy walk from the train station, so it was easy to get around. There are many nice walking trails in the city, and the train ride to Lake Brienz is very short and convenient. The area is in a beautiful valley with gorgeous waterfalls nearby, including Reichenbach falls. There are also many nice shops nearby as well as a crafting/farmers market in the mornings. It was easy to book a small and affordable but comfortable room as...

"Everything was great with the hotel... except AVOID the restaurant. The food was fine, but it was 2x the price it should have been. For $30 swiss francs, I got a plate of mostly rice with a little chicken tikka on top. I also had to pay extra for naan which was not fresh. We were the only people in there and there no chance they made everything we ordered from scratch based on how fast it came. "

"We were traveling from the USA and were looking for something in Central Switzerland that would be nice, quiet, beautiful and easily accessible by train or bus. I had never heard of Hasliberg but decided to take a chance and glad I did. The hosts were very sweet and spoke English well enough to answer any of our questions. Good hotel. The bar and breakfast could have been.

"Really lovely hotel. You needed to request a kettle and return it at check out. Where’s the coffee machine was in situ. They offered a fridge with complimentary drinks, but they were standard, I have food intolerances which meant that half the drinks were of no use to me. So it would have been better to have a choice. The swimming pool and spa was lovely. But most of the sauna and steam rooms were for access of 16+ and nude, which wasn’t ideal for a single mother. My daughter is only 8. The breakfast was good. Amazing selection of teas. The egg station was good. The cups could have been placed near the tea, not just next to the coffee. Ingredients and labels for food could have been clearer. It would have been good to be able to reheat food and drinks. A microwave for use of guests would have been good. It would have been nice if a simple rosti with bacon/ egg was available at the bar or restaurant and I would have liked it if a portion of chips and salads were also available at the bar. "

Hotel Fiescherblick is a true gem

"Hotel Fiescherblick is a true gem for those seeking a serene and luxurious mountain getaway. From the moment I arrived, I greated by such a nice staff; Eva. She was so sweet and hospitable. It had just snowed and we were captivated by the stunning views of the Eiger and surrounding peaks; a postcard-worthy panorama that seemed almost too good to be true. The charm of the hotel begins with its warm and welcoming staff, who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is flawless. The two brothers are amazing and treat everyone like family. Every interaction was friendly and genuine, making me feel right at home. They even upgraded us to a panoramic suite. My room was a cozy modern retreat, blending traditional Swiss alpine aesthetics with contemporary touches. The balcony view was the highlight, offering a private slice of paradise where I could unwind while soaking in the majesty of the mountains. For outdoor enthusiasts, the location is unbeatable. Whether you're hiking, skiing, or exploring Grindelwald, everything is within easy reach. After a day of adventure, the hotel’s tranquil ambiance provides the perfect place to relax and recharge. The jacuzzi and sauna for a small fee is a really amazing experience. And the serve you drinks there too!"

"The location of this lodge, at the base of the Eiger mountain as well as Grindelwald terminal was perfect! My daughter and I had an amazing time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant served delicious food and this all made our first visit to Switzerland a memorable one. We will be back! "
