"This hotel has its own onsen and we loved it. We all were given traditional Japanese robes to wear throughout the hotel (in the dining room as well) and that was really nice. The staff were amazing and patient. "

"This hotel surpassed expectations from a service and amenities standpoint. It was easy to find and there were plenty of dining options nearby. We had a family of 6 split into 2 rooms and they were kind enough to provide 2 rooms that were beside each other for us. "

"Superb hospitality from the owner and his team. Breakfast on both days were delicious. If you arrive by train, private transport to the property may be arranged. We shared a room for 4pax with a private toilet. Wash basins with a water dispenser was communal. It was a very special experience for us. Loved the natural setting of the onsen. "

"Beautiful vista, food was great (strongly recommend doing a dinner reservation AND a breakfast reservation) owner was extremely kind and generous. He spoke better English than I spoke Japanese, which made it extremely easy to meet in the middle. 10/10 experience."

"We loved everything about this ryokan. We were greeted warmly and looked after perfectly. The hotel has a beautiful location and is very peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Spacious room. The food at both dinner and breakfast was just the best and being new to Japan we asked lots of questions and were helped to understand how the food was cooked and that the produce was local as were the recipes. "Perhaps be more flexible on check in time. It was drizzling n cold. We arrived at 14.10 but were not able to chk in as the staff said the room was not ready. Otherwise everything was perfect n highly recommend"

"Literally next to the train and bus station so it made it very easy getting there and leavin, as well as catching the train to Shirakawago. This was important as it was snowing quite a bit and the short walk helped a lot. The facilities were very clean and overall had a great stay."
