"We had the room that was considered traditional and western. It had the area for the table and chairs, which then became the sleep area for 2 people with the traditional mats and in the other part of the room were 2 twin beds. Staff was very helpful and helped us arrange the shipping of our luggage. This is next to the train and bus stations so easy to catch transportation. About a 10 minute walk to the older shopping district. Convenient to have a microwave in the room to cook food. A large grocery store was about a 15 minute walk. Being next to the bus and train station did not give great views, but we were booking for the space for 4 adults and the convenience of getting around. This room had a washer/dryer combo, which was a plus because it allowed us to not have to pack as many clothes for the trip."

"We liked the convenience to station and quietness. The staff were lovely. We would have preferred without the music on a short monotonous loop in the corridors from 6.30 and in the public bath but that was a minor issue. Overall a great experience "

"A beautiful hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in the middle of the historic area of Takayama. It’s walking distance to everything you’d like to see. The hotel is clean, staff were super kind. They have free drinks each evening in the lounge and offer both western or Japanese breakfast for a fee. The hotel isn’t the most sound proof however it’s a quiet area where shops and restaurants close at a reasonable time so we had no trouble sleeping. Our room was very spacious and clean. We found the beds to be comfy. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. "

"Excellent Ryokan with first class service and superb dining (beautifully presented and delicious breakfast and kaiseki dinner if choosing the half board option). Room was immaculately clean and decorated in tasteful traditional style. A very enjoyable stay."

"Loved this hotel! Room was bigger than expected (Deluxe Hollywood Room) and was very clean. Check-in/out was easy with friendly and professional staff available to assist. Breakfast had a good variety of food. Main attractions were within walking distance (10-20 mins walk). Public transportation nearby (10 mins walk). Wish we stayed longer than one night for greater use of the facilities. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Very accessible from Matsumoto Station. The hotel was very clean. I especially appreciated the cleaning after 3 nights of stay to be sustainable. The towel bags was a nice feature so we were able to carry the towels to the bath. Breakfast was delicious. There were so many options ranging from Japanese to western. There was something for everyone to eat. The hotel had nice little perks. When we stayed, there was happy hour (free alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and evening snack in the dining hall. "

"The two Onsens especially the outdoors one was lovely as were the treats supplied for guests to sample. Free Shuttle bus to the station also a highlight Souvenir shop reasonably priced and staff most attentive"
