"I don't know what to say other than I have sent my review to YHA with "top marks" for everything. From the friendly welcome received on check-in to the cleanliness of the room allocated, everything was absolutely perfect for the overnight stay. I slept very well & enjoyed the morning coffee in the café downstairs. It was all spot-on and excellent value for money. I will recommend to friends and I would like to book to stay there again. "

"Room was clean, plenty of tea and coffee makings! Pub closed at 10.00pm which was great as rooms were above the premises. Comfortable bed. A fair price for the room. All in all a very positive experience! Thank you!"

The room was clean warm and well presented with spare pillow's if needed. The swimming pool is heated and the gym is properly equipped. The menu is typical of a chain hotel. "

"An interesting pub with decent food, ideally situated for the iron bridge 10 mins walk away, and the museums . My room was comfortable and warm enough given the -5c outside. it had a part glass floor with industrial archeology visible through it. "

Location good although we didn’t have the chance to explore as we were meeting friends for a Christmas lunch the next day. Room was nice and warm and the bed comfortable. "Stopped for one night as at a wedding nearby, room was very clean and cosy, not a huge room but just perfect for a one night stopover, very warm and super quiet at night, breakfast was very nice with eggs from the local chickens who just wondered around the gardens, very friendly owners who made you feel very welcome and a lovely well behaved pet dog..."
