"This was a spacious, comfortable and unique property in a good location. It was immaculately clean. There is a Lawson store next door and a number of good restaurants nearby. It is in walking distance to the Heian Shrine and Nanzenji Temple. Bus stops are just outside and subway stations are very close. The hotel is on a busy street, but the room is well insulated and very quiet. It has a washing machine that is supposed to also function as a dryer, but we didn’t have much luck with the dryer...

"Amazing stay! Pick up by owner at kyoto station Traditional house in perfect condition, modern bathroom, good shower, beautiful decoration, very clean, good beds, washmachine and dryer, daily cleaning, owner brings every day tasty breakfast, nice treats to discover, couple of owners are delicious! Present and discrete at same time Location is very near of most of sightseeing, transport and supermarket: 7 minutes walk For the 4 of us it was a perfect stay!"

"The hotel was situated in the middle of a lot of neat places to visit and it was walkable to get around. The room was very spacious and felt like Kyoto. Staff were courteous and helpful. The stay was very nice!"

"We LOVED this hotel. The room was extremely spacious as well as the bathroom. The bedding and pillows were great. We had made changes to our travel itinerary and decided to extend our stay, and the staff accommodated us very well. Definitely coming back to this hotel when we return to Kyoto "

"Good location although hard to find at first as the entrance is a doorway on a main road. Steps up were difficult with our suitcases. Lovely inside and very attentive staff. Room was lovely and beds very comfortable. Wooden bath was unusual but worked fine. Had a Japanese style breakfast in the restaurant which was beautifully presented. Good experience but expensive compared to local hotels."

"Amazing. I will be back. Literally a 5 star experience walking distance to the most beautiful area in Kyoto. Very easy to access anything you want; food, shopping, shrines, metro and trains. The staff couldn’t be more kind always arranging taxis or giving suggestions of where to go and eat etc.. I was sad to leave this hotel. That doesn’t happen very often in traveling. I will be back here one day soon. ❤️"

"This is a slice of heaven, a tradtional Kyoto experience in a lovely old refurbished building in a quiet street very near a major shrine. But it is also wonderfully modern with more complimentary comforts and perks than I have ever come across in any hotel in the world. You are also within easy walking distance of many sights and museums, shops, bars and restaurants. And the staff are wonderful...pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, incredibly efficient. "I loved staying at this property! It had so many amazing amenities in addition to the onsen like the free late night ramen, all day ice cream, and morning yogurt drinks! There was a wide spread of items at the breakfast buffet for a great price. The tatami mat feature throughout the hotel was also so unique. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would come back to this hotel next time!"
