"We were a little worried about going to Rio with some of the advisories, but we had an amazing trip. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, the dining and shopping amazing and the beaches unparalleled. My husband even forgot his phone in a cab and it was returned within the hour! Went to a fotbol game and the experience was awesome. We would highly recommend Rio and the Fairmont. "

"Everything is great at this hotel except for the breakfast. My partner is Brazilian and he said that the breakfast buffet wasn’t Brazilian enough. In my opinion, the quality of the buffet items was poor. The doughnuts were chewy for example. The eggs are a little runny. The coffee is not strong enough. Why did they decide they needed to be continental? Why didn’t they keep it traditional?"

"The lobby service was exceptional. The only subpar service was when we ordered drinks from the roof bar, and that could have been because it was close to closing time. But everyone we encountered at the front desk, breakfast, and lobby bar was friendly and helpful. "My room was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. I am an Expedia Platinum member but did not receive an upgrade. Very disappointing. The location is great and it's just a two minute walk to the Copacabana beach. The hotel staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was fine."

Relax and enjoy the view.

"The hotel is classically beautiful with its spacious rooms, colourfully and tastefully decorated. I'm not surprised many celebrities have stayed there! The bed is super comfortable and the blackout blinds left all the day light outside so we could have a nice lie in the next morning. The hotel is super clean and tidy. They offer you a glass of champagne upon arrival making you feel very welcomed. The staff are really friendly and helpful, they go an extra mile to ensure you're satisfied. The pool area is just gorgeous with the colourful parasols contrasting with the pure white of the building around it! Very romantic. The location is wonderful, you just have to cross the road to be at the iconic Copacabana beach. It was throughout a fantastic experience and we'd love to be back again soon. "
